Festival of Choirs 2025
On Sunday 21st September we hosted our annual Festival of Choirs.
We were overjoyed by the number of choristers who attended from across the local area.
This year, the choirs were conducted by Alexander Binns, who is the Director of Music at Derby Cathedral. The organist was Dr. Ed Jones.
The music sung was to a very high standard and included:
Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace. Arr Andrew Poulter
Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis in D by Herbert Brewer
O Thou The Central Orb by Charles Wood
The choirs who joined us this year:
St. George's - New Mills
St. Martin's - Low Marple
St. Thomas's - Mellor
St. George's - Heavily, Stockport
St. John's - Buxton
A great afternoon under the enthusiastic direction of Alexander was had by all.
We look forward to hosting next year's festival and welcoming back our chorister friends from across the local area.
